Adding Rack Strip to a Case
Step 1. Select the rack strip tool from the toolbar.
Step 2. Select the correct U size rack you need for your case and click confirm.
Step 3. Hover your mouse over the face you would like to apply the rack case to, it will highlight the face in red.
Step 4. Click on the face and the rack strip will appear in green. If it appears in red it means it is clashing with something, check what it is clashing with and either remove it from the case or choose a small U size.
Step 5. The rack tool has a couple of options but needs to be located first before you can do anything.
Step 6. In the rack strips tools, located in the top left of the screen you will see 2 mouse arrows tools, these are used to select the points the rack strip will reference to.
Step 7. Select the front face of the rack strip and then select either the existing work plane, a work plane you have added or a face of the case.
Step 8. The measurement box will show the distance between the faces you selected, you can change this and it will move the rack strip to reflect the change you have made.
Step 9. Then select a top face of the rack strip, and do the similar as above but in the z axis.
Step 10. You have now positioned a rack strip to the side of your case, however the steps above can also be used on partitions.
