How to access the Library
Step 1. At the opening screen, select the library tab located above the tool bar.
Step 2. Select the Library tool, located in the Library section of the tool bar.
Note: The Default Library cannot be edited or changed or added too, however can be hidden via the general settings. See the tutorial on general settings for further details.

Copying a library
The copying library function in Autocase, allows the ability to copy hardware items, or even entire libraries to another library. You could do this for a number of reasons, whether you want to have a back up of your library and you want to make changes to your hardware, or you want to curate a smaller pool of hardware because you do not use all the items in your current library.
To start copying your library you need to:
Step 1. Select the library, manufacturer, catalogue, hardware you want to copy to your new library. To expand the options of items to be selectable, click on the + and keep expanding the options until you find the items you want to copy.
Step 2. Click on the drop down menu, located under "Select library to copy to" and select the library you want to copy the items/ library you selected in the previous step to.
Note: Ensure your battery of your PC is full before copying full libraries, interrupting your power supply to your pc or shutting down your PC while copying is in process may cause the Library and Autocase database becoming corrupted, causes errors in Autocase and a lost of saved projects.
Step 3. Click on the "Copy" button located at the bottom of the library tool screen.
Step 4. Leave Autocase as it copy's the items across between Library. Do not shut down your PC until Autocase has completed carrying out it's process.
Creating a New Library
Step 1. Select the button marked "Create Library".
Step 2. A new window will appear. Enter in the text box the name of your new library and click the "Create" button.
Step 3. A Prompt will appear confirm the creation of the new library.
Delete a Library
Step 1. Click on the button marked "Delete Library".
Step 2. A new window will appear with a drop down menu. Click on the Drop down menu and select the Library you want to delete.
Step 3. Click on the button marked "Delete".
Step 4. A prompt will appear asking you to confirm that the Library you selected is to be deleted.
Note: Once a library has been deleted, it can not be recovered and will be deleted permanently.
Step 5. A prompt will appear confirming that the Library has been successful. Click the Cross in the corner to close the window.
Edit Hardware
Step 1. Click on the button marked "Edit Hardware" in the library edit tool.

Step 2. On the screen will appear a window showing all the information on all the hardware currently installed on your version of Autocase. You can filter it so it only shows a particular Library or type. By using the search bar, you can look for particular hardware by name.
Step 3. If you want to reorder the hardware table, you can by selecting any of the categories located across the top of the table, which will reorder the table either numerically or alphabetically depending on the category selected.
Step 4. If you want to edit a piece of hardware, tick the box of the particular hardware you are after.
Step 5. Select the button marked "Edit", it will then take you to that type of hardware's editing environment.
Step 6. Here you can edit the hardware and change the details for the select hardware, for a more detailed tutorial on how to use the custom hardware environments look at the tutorials for custom hardware.
Step 7. If you want to change the "Net Price" or "Labour time" double click on the unit and enter the new value. Once you have made your changes, click the button labelled "Update".
Step 8. The Import tool is used for updating existing custom hardware. It is used when you need to perform bulk updates for price or description. First, create a CSV file with the existing custom hardware information. Then, click the import button and select this CSV file from the file selection screen that appears. In the next screen, map the "Product," "Description," "Unit," "Net Price," and "Discount" fields according to the columns in the CSV file. The custom hardware will be updated based on the values in the CSV file.
