Step 1. On the home screen, navigate to "Library" and click "Add Custom Material".
Step 2. You will then be presented will a form with the following options:
TYPE (Drop down): Select whether your material is a PANEL ( used for case carcases or internal panels) Or Foam (used for lining the inside of the case).
LIBRARY NAME (Drop down): Select which Library you want your new Material to be located.
CATEGORY (Drop down): Select what your panel is made of, the categories are:
Plastic: Acrylic, Polycarbonate, PVC
Wood: Ply, MDF, Chipboard
Metal: Aluminium, Steel, Copper
Generic: Any material that does not fit into the other categories.
MATERIAL NAME (Text box): Enter the SKU for the Material you are adding. This information will be visible when selecting a material in the assembly view.
DENSITY (Text box): The weight of your material in kilograms per cubic meter.
APPEARANCE (Drop down): Select the appearance your material will use, this will affect how your material is shown in your model. There are many to choose from, however currently you can not see them before you make your selection.
Adding custom appearances is currently unavailable.
NAME (Text box): Enter the SKU for the Material you are adding.
LABOUR TIMING (Text box): Enter the times it takes to work on your new material. This could be the time for the material to be cut by the CNC or time taken to prepare the material. The time is minutes per square metre.
SUPPLIER (Text box): Enter the supplier of your Material. This information will be visible when selecting a material in the assembly view.
FINISH (Text box): Enter the finish type for the Material you are adding, For example gloss, matte, semi matte or textured. This information will be visible when selecting a material in the assembly view.
MATERIAL (Text box): Enter the SKU for the Material you are adding.
WIDTH (Text box): Enter the width of the sheet your new material comes in.
LENGTH (Text box): Enter the length of the sheet your new material comes in.
THICKNESS (Text box): Enter the thickness of the sheet your new material comes in.
DESCRIPTION (Text box): Enter the name of your material along with any important information. This information will be visible when selecting a material in the assembly view.
UNIT (Drop down): Select how Autocase will work out the unit price of your material, per metre or per piece.
THICKNESS (Text box): Enter the price you will charge for the material when it’s used.
