Step 1. While you can resize foam pads manually, we can make foam blocks inside our case smart, so that if we resize the case the foam blocks will resize with the case.

Step 2. Using Workplane tool “offset from plane” and select the side of the case.

Step 3. Enter the amount of space you want between your foam and the case.

Step 4. Select the “Add” tool from the foam tab in the toolbar.

Step 5. Select the foam you want to use and place it into the case (See tutorial “Adding Simple Foam Linings to a Case”).

Step 6. Click on the button in the top left of the screen marked “Select to edit”.

Step 7. Select the face of your foam that runs in parallel with the work plane and then select the work plane you have placed.

Step 8. Your foam will now snap to the work plane you have selected and will create a gap between the side of the case and the foam you have inserted.

Step 9. Now if you resize your case, your foam will resize but the gap you have created will also stay in the space dictated by the workplane.
